“The Company's business activities, together with the factors likely to affect its future development, performance and position are set out in the strategic report along with the risks and uncertainties facing the Company. The Company operates in the food industry, has numerous ongoing contracts with customers and suppliers across different geographic areas and has considerable financial resources. The Directors have a reasonable expectation that the Company is well placed to manage its business risks successfully and continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. The Directors therefore consider it appropriate to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the Company's annual financial statements.”
Significant events
- “Turnover grew just 1.2% in 2024 to £127.7m (2023 - £126.2m) as fewer opportunities emerged in high volume lines. The business continued to expand sales in its World Foods category while there was some softening in retailer private label activity.”
- “Bird flu across much of the world badly affected chicken production and welfare, leading to a number of UK producers withdrawing from the market. Meanwhile foot and mouth disease continues to affect parts of Europe highlighting the importance of timely and accurate traceability across the industry.”
- “We are deeply concerned about the impacts of climate change. There has been no shortage of warnings. We acknowledge that the food industry is a major emitter of CO2 and are working actively with our suppliers to reduce our emissions. Our climate targets are to be Net Zero across Scopes 1 & 2 by 2030 and across our supply chain (Scope 3) by 2040.”

Each % is (latest − prior) ÷ |prior| for the line item as filed. The comparison is only shown when the latest and prior accounts cover broadly equal-length periods — short or long stubs (typical around incorporation or a year-end change) are suppressed rather than misrepresented. Lines a company doesn't report are omitted. About these numbers
