Significant events

- “The total of the Bahlsen brand in value year or year was marginally down by 0.2% to £46.8m, but in contrast units declined 10%.”
- “The average price per pack in the market of a Bahlsen biscuit increased 11% year on year to £1.47 reflecting our commitment to price increases and protecting the margins of the business.”

- “Bahlsen LLP turnover has increased from £36.8 in 2023 to £39.7m in 2024 representing an 8% improvement.”
- “The market data showed a decline of 10% in units (2024 vs 2023), which was replicated by our volume in tons declining 13%. This was solely as a result of successfully implementing two separate price increases to our customers during 2024 consequently lowering customer demand.”
- “The gross profit margin increased by 4 percentage points year on year, but this was slightly masked by the fact we had a benefit of lower transfer pricing in the first half of the year which outweighed the higher costs in the second half.”
- “Price increases were imperative as the cost of the raw material of Cocoa surged during 2024.”
- “Bahlsen's Private Label business increased to £8.5m in 2024, from £6.2m in 2023.”
- “Branded turnover rose to £31.3m from £30.6m in 2023.”

- “Bahlsen's second pillar brand, PICK UP! witnessed another record year. On the back of an impressive 2023, PICK UP! increased a further 17% in 2024, with annual turnover of £12.8m (2023; £10.9m).”
- “Bahlsen brand experienced an overall downturn in tonnage in 2024 of -828 tons (-13% vs 2023).”
- “We also continued to expand our portfolio of new wholesale customers during 2024, adding 26 tons and additional turnover of £166k, but ended our contract with our Scottish wholesale partners after a disappointing performance. Looking ahead, we have now partnered up with Portion Solutions, a distributor who specialise in the foodservice sector where we currently have little engagement.”
- “Food and catering inflation stabilised during 2024, falling to 3% in December 2024... Cocoa prices were extremely volatile.”
- “Two price increases were successfully implemented in January and July 2024.”

- “In October 2024, the UK Government laid the new Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging and Packaging Waste) Regulations 2024... in January 2025 EPR superceded the previous 2007 Packaging Waste Regulations, and consequently the organisation will be liable to increased obligations and fees which could be in the region of £300,000.”

Each % is (latest − prior) ÷ |prior| for the line item as filed. The comparison is only shown when the latest and prior accounts cover broadly equal-length periods — short or long stubs (typical around incorporation or a year-end change) are suppressed rather than misrepresented.
