“The directors have fully considered the risks and uncertainties of the company's cash flow forecasts and projections. The going concern basis is considered to be appropriate by the directors as the company is in a net current asset position and financial obligations are forecast to be covered by operational cash flows. In addition, the RWE Group Pension Trustees and RWE Renewables UK Swindon Limited entered into a Deed, in 2021, whereby from that time RWE Renewables UK Swindon Limited provides a guarantee to settle up to the entire liability of the Innogy section, should the need arise. This guarantee has no time limit. On this basis, the directors have a reasonable expectation that the company will have adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future, being at least 12 months from date of signing. Thus, they continue to adopt the going concern basis in preparing the annual financial statements.”
Significant events
- “The increase in revenue of 37% compared to the prior year reflects greater recharge income from a higher year-on-year cost base. Costs have increased by 37% mainly due to an increase in average employees in the RWE UK Renewables business from 1,114 to 1,381.”
- “The reduction in profit for the financial year of less than 1% compared to the prior year primarily reflects a reduction in year-on-year net finance income of 16%, which is due to the reduction in the net defined benefit pension surplus between 31 December 2022 and 31 December 2023, coupled with a year-on-year increase of 33% in operating profit, as a result of increased revenue and costs described above.”
- “The RWE Group Pension Trustees and RWE Renewables UK Swindon Limited entered into a Deed, in 2021, whereby from that time RWE Renewables UK Swindon Limited provides a guarantee to settle up to the entire liability of the Innogy section, should the need arise. This guarantee has no time limit.”
- “The company's COVID-19 policy had the effect of limiting travel in 2021 and no such restrictions were in place during 2024. Secondly, there was a 68% increase in average full-time employees in 2024 compared to the baseline year.”
- “In June 2023, the English High Court determined the outcome of a legal case (Virgin Media Limited v NTL Pension Trustees LL Ltd and others) which may invalidate certain amendments made by certain defined benefit pension schemes in the UK. The court ruled that any amendments made to certain 'contracted-out' pension schemes during the period between 6 April 1997 and 5 April 2016 would be void in the absence of a written confirmation being provided from the scheme's actuary that the minimum statutory benefits would continue to be provided. In July 2024, the English Court of Appeal upheld the original decision. The conclusions reached by the court in this case may have implications for other UK defined benefit plans.”

Each % is (latest − prior) ÷ |prior| for the line item as filed. The comparison is only shown when the latest and prior accounts cover broadly equal-length periods — short or long stubs (typical around incorporation or a year-end change) are suppressed rather than misrepresented. Lines a company doesn't report are omitted. About these numbers
