  Material uncertainty over going concern

  As highlighted in the Strategic Report, the Company's ongoing operations depend on the renewal of the OFAC licence. There is however the potential for legislative change by the US government, and this combined with the escalating risks associated with the ongoing conflict in the Middle East introduces significant political, fiscal, and legal uncertainties, further contributing to the material uncertainties surrounding the Company's banking and operating facilities as of the approval date of these financial statements. Despite these material uncertainties, the Director maintains a reasonable expectation that the Company will continue its operations and meet its obligations as they fall due over the going concern period.

• “Rhum field is governed by an OFAC licence which is generally renewed every two years by the operator, Serica Energy (UK) Limited. The licence, which was due to expire on 31 January 2025, was initially renewed for 60 days (ending 31 March 2025) as a temporary extension and was fully renewed on 25 February 2025 for a period of 24 months ending on 28 February 2027.”
