- “On 5 October 2023, a claim was issued in the Eastern District of Texas, United States District Court by a company called Sportscastr Inc (d/b/a Panda Interactive) against Genius Sports Limited (with various of its subsidiaries now added). Sportscastr Inc is claiming Genius Sports Limited is infringing patents held by Sportscastr Inc relating to the provision of synchronised live data and content within live video streams. Genius Sports Limited is defending the claim. The company filed its answer to the complaint on 26 January 2024 and on 25 February 2025, Sportscastr Inc filed an amended complaint asserting antitrust claims under federal and state law, with the parties engaged in fact discovery, which concluded on 22 August 2025. Jury selection is scheduled to take place on 27 February 2026 with trial to commence immediately thereafter.”
- “On 12 September 2023, a claim was filed in the Court of Chancery of Delaware against DMY Sponsor II LLC and certain officers and directors of DMY Technology Group Inc II (SPAC that merged with the Genius legacy business to create Genius Sports Limited). The claim relates to matters pre-merger. Genius Sports Limited and its subsidiaries would be liable for damages and costs awarded. The Court has now approved the settlement entered into between the parties, the final settlement approval hearing having taken place on 23 February 2026. Following Court approval, and in satisfaction of its indemnification obligations, Genius Sports Limited will make a payment on behalf of the indemnified defendants towards the agreed settlement.”
