- Going concern
- Affirmed
“In auditing the financial statements, we have concluded that the trustees' use of the going concern basis of accounting in the preparation of the financial statements is appropriate. Based on the work we have performed, we have not identified any material uncertainties relating to events or conditions that, individually or collectively, may cast significant doubt on the academy trust's ability to continue as a going concern for a period of at least twelve months from when the financial statements are authorised for issue.”
Significant events
- “Alcohol was purchased within the year, in error and was robustly addressed with all individuals involved including reimbursing the funds back to the academy timely.”
- “Discovery Special Academy: Investment of £600k towards a permanent bespoke nursery building and an additional £300k (part-funded) in collaboration with Middlesbrough Council to create an assessment nursery, supporting children with early needs in their educational and care pathway.”
- “Brambles Primary Academy: Approximately £180k allocated to replace heating pipework following system failure in December 2024.”
- “Wilton Primary Academy: £20k invested in replacing the kitchen extractor unit, enabling the academy to serve hot meals on-site from April 2025 for the first time since 2018. This eliminates the need for meals to be transported from Dormanstown Primary Academy.”
- “Dormanstown Primary Academy: A further £70k committed to developing bespoke provision for two-year-olds, following the Secretary of State's approval in Summer 2025 to expand early years provision.”
- “Trust continues to invest in teaching and learning capacity, with the fundamental aim of supporting the journey to excellence for all children and young people during the 2024/2025 academic year.”

Each % is (latest − prior) ÷ |prior| for the line item as filed. The comparison is only shown when the latest and prior accounts cover broadly equal-length periods — short or long stubs (typical around incorporation or a year-end change) are suppressed rather than misrepresented. Lines a company doesn't report are omitted. About these numbers
