“The Directors consider that the business is a going concern and that it is appropriate to prepare the financial statements on a going concern basis. In reaching this conclusion, the Directors have assessed the Group's current performance and position and factors that may affect the Group's future prospects. The business has experienced challenging trading conditions due to a weakening in consumer confidence, which resulted in profit downgrades announced in December 2024 and August 2025. The Directors have reviewed the capital expenditure commitment, staffing levels, additional sales promotions, store numbers and all costs, and will use all of these levers to protect the cash position. The Directors have also considered, should there be a significant but plausible downside scenario of a further 3% and 5% reduction, the mitigating steps that can be taken by reducing capital expenditure and intake, along with further cost cutting measures to protect the revised cash position. The Directors have reviewed forecasts and cash projections and consider that the Group has adequate banking facilities and cash resources to meet its operational and capital commitments. The latest cash forecasts provide significant headroom within the available banking facilities, even when sensitized. The new store and refit programme results, along with the positive digital performance, combined with the satisfactory cash position gives the Directors a reasonable basis on which to satisfy themselves that the business is a going concern. The Group has prepared forecasts and budgets which shows the Group has sufficient cash to meet its day to day liabilities as they fall due. On that basis, the Directors have prepared the financial statements on a going concern basis.”

Significant events
- “We donated £252,000 to charitable causes.”
- “Our business strategy of investment in our new format stores continued, and we completed 17 refits and relocations in the financial year, which is a lower number of projects compared to last year, with continued investment in our Digital platform.”
- “We ended the year with 201 larger format stores (2024: 185), generating revenue of £88.3m (2024: £85.2m)”
- “The email database of engaged customers stood at 1.22m (2024: 1.43m), the reduction is because the 2024 database contained customers that had "opted-in" more than once and were therefore duplicated, but there was a small underlying increase.”

Each % is (latest − prior) ÷ |prior| for the line item as filed. The comparison is only shown when the latest and prior accounts cover broadly equal-length periods — short or long stubs (typical around incorporation or a year-end change) are suppressed rather than misrepresented. Lines a company doesn't report are omitted. About these numbers
