Material uncertainty over going concern
On 28th November 2024, the ultimate parent, Toyo Tire Corporation, announced that it has decided to discontinue business operations of its European sales subsidiaries, including Toyo Tyre (UK) Limited, from January 2025. A new company, that will consolidate the sales functions of current European sales subsidiaries, has been established in the Republic of Serbia instead. At 31st December 2024, the company had net current asset of £941k (2023: £5.3m). The directors believe that it is. appropriate to prepare the financial statements not on the going concern basis as the company's ultimate parent undertaking, Toyo Tire Corporation, has decided to discontinue its business operation from January 2025 and ultimately liquidate the company. Toyo Tire Corporation remained committed to continue to support the company and it will provide adequate funding to enable the company to meet its obligation as they fall due until completion of the liquidation process.
