“The Company is both dependent on the RFU for the funding of its ongoing activities and financial support in the form of non-recall of intercompany balances. The RFU has confirmed to the Directors its intention to continue to provide funding and to not recall intercompany balances unless the Company has the financial means to do so and otherwise meet its liabilities as they fall due. The Directors have reviewed financial projections for the Rugby Football Union that show it has a reasonable expectation that it will be able to operate within the level of, and in compliance with the terms of its bank facilities and covenants and continue to provide this funding for a period of not less than 12 months from the date of approval of these financial statements even in a number of downside scenarios, and have therefore prepared the financial statements on a going concern basis.”
