“the Board consider that, at the time of approving the financial statements, that the Goodwood Group has adequate resources to continue to trade for the foreseeable future, and not less than one year from the date of approval of the financial statements.”
Significant events
- “2024 saw a continuation of the challenging trading conditions that had been experienced by The Goodwood Club Limited through the second half of 2023. The uncertainty, caused by the election alongside high inflation, saw the meeting and event segment contract which impacted revenues in several of the areas within the business.”
- “Hound Lodge, the luxury accommodation business, saw a significant decline in customers staying whilst corporate business at The Kennels also reduced. The Sporting Membership product which provides unrivalled access to the wider Goodwood Estate also struggled for sales with customers deciding to hold back spend until the uncertainty in the market had passed.”
- “On a more positive note, Golf at Goodwood was able to grow profitability as demand continued to be strong for all the main membership groups due to the flexibility of the model alongside the positive investment in the facilities. This demand allowed a robust price increase on all the headline revenue lines which, coupled with the opening of the new 6-hole short course, delivered a 10.6% increase to income overall which was enough to fully mitigate the staff cost increases coming from further increases to the National Minimum Wage (NMW).”
- “The Shoot business faced several challenges in 2024 which culminated in a pre-tax loss of £0.1m compared to the pre-tax profit of £0.1m in 2023. Delays in having the birds available saw the season start later than in previous years meaning less days were sold overall whilst the wider economic conditions and the subsequent sales mix saw the average value of the days also diminish.”

Each % is (latest − prior) ÷ |prior| for the line item as filed. The comparison is only shown when the latest and prior accounts cover broadly equal-length periods — short or long stubs (typical around incorporation or a year-end change) are suppressed rather than misrepresented. Lines a company doesn't report are omitted. About these numbers
