“The Trustees (who are directors of The Message Trust for the purposes of company law and the Trustees of The Message Trust for the purposes of charity law) consider that there are no material uncertainties related to events or conditions that cast significant doubt on the ability of The Message Trust to continue to operate as a going concern. This conclusion has been reached after reviewing the Charity's financial position, the levels of reserves and cash, including general funds available to the Charity, and the 12-month financial forecast. Sustained price rises and strain on individuals income in the wider economy are increasing both the operational costs of the charity and the demand for our charitable services (particularly in our Community Grocery stores which are in some of the UKs most deprived areas), as well as potentially slowing growth in fundraising income in the short-term. The Trustees have considered these factors in their assessment and believe that the charity is well-placed to manage their impact and risks effectively, in large part due to a successful cost-cutting exercise during the 2023/24 year, and the implementation of modest price increases in the Community Grocery - these are outlined in more detail on page 18, as part of the financial review of the year. Consequently, The Trustees are confident that the group will continue as a going concern for the foreseeable future, and therefore, continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the annual financial statements.”

Each % is (latest − prior) ÷ |prior| for the line item as filed. The comparison is only shown when the latest and prior accounts cover broadly equal-length periods — short or long stubs (typical around incorporation or a year-end change) are suppressed rather than misrepresented. Lines a company doesn't report are omitted. About these numbers
