- Going concern
- Affirmed
“These financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis on the grounds that the directors, after careful consideration, believe that the group has sufficient cash resources in terms of existing committed facilities. This allows them to offset any foreseeable cashflow uncertainties and expect that the group will be able to meet its debts as they fall due. The group continues to maintain a strong financial position reflected on its balance sheet with limited banking facilities and therefore has significant scope to borrow further should that be required. The group, however, intends to run with a minimum level of external debt. At 31 December 2024, the group was funded through a combination of cash reserves, overdraft and lease arrangements, and term loan facilities within the UK and internationally. The directors remain confident that the nature of the group's operations, along with the proactive measures detailed in the strategic report to manage potential risks, place the group in a strong position to continue operating effectively despite the prevailing economic uncertainties. Accordingly, they have determined that there are no significant foreseeable risks that would threaten the group's ability to continue as a going concern, and it remains appropriate to prepare the financial statements on that basis.”

Significant events
- “Despite facing a range of climate-related challenges in 2024, from harsh winter storms in South Africa, flooding in China, water shortages in Portugal as well as economic pressures and changing labour dynamics, the growing businesses have demonstrated resilience across most geographies.”
- “The business increased its investment in cherries in two farms in China... and in a minority shareholding in a growing business in Chile... In the UK, production was expanded by investing in a fully established 60 hectare blueberry business in the year, in a joint venture.”
- “In Growing Systems the business further developed new innovative products, opening a new business in India and exploring opportunities in South America. Operations were consolidated in Europe, closing the German office and transferring the servicing of all mainland customers to the centrally located hub in Poland, for lower costs and increased efficiency.”

Each % is (latest − prior) ÷ |prior| for the line item as filed. The comparison is only shown when the latest and prior accounts cover broadly equal-length periods — short or long stubs (typical around incorporation or a year-end change) are suppressed rather than misrepresented. Lines a company doesn't report are omitted. About these numbers
