“The assets of the company consist mainly of listed securities that are readily realisable whilst liabilities are due to group companies with group liquidity managed on a group basis and, accordingly, the company has adequate financial resources to continue its operational existence for the next 12 months. Therefore, the directors believe that it is appropriate to continue to adopt the going concern basis in preparing the accounts. British & American Investment Trust PLC, the ultimate parent undertaking and controlling company, and Romulus Films Limited, related undertaking, have no current intention to request repayment of the loans (note 16) and therefore, the directors believe that it is appropriate to continue to adopt the going concern basis in preparing the financial statements.”
