“At 31 March 2025, the Company had net current liabilities of £8,728,000 and a loss for the year then ended of £403,000 (2024: £435,000). The financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis, which the directors consider to be appropriate for the following reasons. The directors have prepared cash flow forecasts and performed a going concern assessment for a period of at least 12 months from the date of approval of the financial statements (the going concern assessment period), which indicate that, taking account of severe but plausible downside scenarios, including the non-delivery of volume-enhancing projects, the Company will have sufficient funds, through its existing borrowing facilities, which are long-standing and which the directors have no reason to believe will be recalled, and in downside cases, additional funding from its immediate parent company, Sumika Polymer Compounds (Europe) Ltd, to meet its liabilities as they fall due for that period.”
Significant events
- “Sales volumes decreased by 8% during the year ended 31 March 2025 compared to the prior year.”
- “Turnover and cost of sales fell by 9% and 11% respectively and there was a positive impact on margin of 17% driven by a stronger product mix enabled by the recent manufacturing capability investment programmes.”
- “Raw material prices stabilised relative to the prior period and, on average, fell by 2%.”
- “Utility costs reduced due to solar panel generation and the receipt of energy intensity subsidies and a focus on ongoing cost optimisation mitigated the inflationary pressures on fixed costs.”
- “A further £709,000 (2024: £1,267,000) was invested across capital programmes in the year, bringing investment levels over the past four years to a total of £4.4 million.”
- “Stock fell by £1,175,000 during the year to £4,321,000 (2024: £5,496,000) due to continuing optimisation initiatives.”
- “Short-term creditors decreased by £2,901,000 to £19,275,000 (2024: £22,176,000) due principally to reduced borrowing on group facilities and lower trade creditors from lower purchasing activity.”
- “Debtors decreased by £1,985,000 to £6,203,000 (2024: £8,188,000) driven by the timing of receipts of amounts due from group undertakings, and by amounts received from related parties for tax losses surrendered.”
- “There was an overall decline in net assets of £471,000 to £2,267,000 (2024: £2,738,000) driven by the retained loss for the year and a small decrease in the actuarial valuation of the Company's defined benefit pension scheme asset.”
- “Post the year-end, volumes have increased, and work has continued on cost- and energy-saving initiatives leading to further reductions in fixed costs.”
- “During the calendar year ended 31 December 2024, there were no lost time accidents and two non-lost time accidents, which was unchanged from the prior year.”

Each % is (latest − prior) ÷ |prior| for the line item as filed. The comparison is only shown when the latest and prior accounts cover broadly equal-length periods — short or long stubs (typical around incorporation or a year-end change) are suppressed rather than misrepresented. Lines a company doesn't report are omitted. About these numbers
