Audit & accounting basis

- Unqualified (clean)
- Going concern
- Affirmed
“On the basis of their assessment of the company's financial position and resources, the directors believe that the company is well placed to manage its business risks. The company remains profitable, has no borrowings and has £2.6m cash balance in addition to the £140.4m cash pooling balance. Therefore, the directors have a reasonable expectation that the company has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus, they continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the annual financial statements. Additionally, the company receives support from its German ultimate parent company, Deutsche Post AG. The directors have received a letter of continued support from Deutsche Post AG, for at least 12 months from the data of approval of the financial statements, to enable the company to continue to trade and meet its liabilities as they fall due. Therefore, the directors consider there to be no material uncertainties that may cast doubt on the company's going concern status.”
Significant events
- “Revenue decreased by 10.2% due to a shift in B2C fashion to deferred delivery services rather than express, as well as changes in post-Brexit trading conditions, resulting in many established businesses relocating their distribution centres.”
- “The ongoing cost-of-living crisis continues to have an impact on consumers and businesses in the UK. While inflation rates have started to decrease, high interest rates still affect consumer confidence. As a global network business, we manage our resources to meet network demand, rather than UK customer demand in isolation.”
- “Pillar Two legislation has been enacted in the UK and is effective from 1 January 2024. The company is within the scope of this legislation, however, no additional tax liability is currently expected to arise.”

Each % is (latest − prior) ÷ |prior| for the line item as filed. The comparison is only shown when the latest and prior accounts cover broadly equal-length periods — short or long stubs (typical around incorporation or a year-end change) are suppressed rather than misrepresented. Lines a company doesn't report are omitted. About these numbers
