Despite cuts in interest rates, borrowing costs remained elevated, placing pressure on corporate debt servicing and default risk. Economic growth was uneven, with relative strength in the United States offset by weaker conditions in Europe and China, contributing to volatility in capital markets and subdued business activity.”
