- Going concern
- Affirmed
“In auditing the financial statements, we have concluded that the directors' use of the going concern basis of accounting in the preparation of the financial statements is appropriate. Based on the work we have performed, we have not identified any material uncertainties relating to events or conditions that, individually or collectively, may cast significant doubt on the company's ability to continue as a going concern for a period of at least twelve months from when the financial statements are authorised for issue.”
Significant events
- “Trading conditions in 2024 continued to be tough. The cost-of-living crisis and the war in Ukraine continued, and uncertainty and negativity in the economic outlook followed by a high tax budget all added to the difficult trading environment.”
- “The Directors have kept a close eye on the marketplace and are keen to take what they believe are opportunities to develop the business offering in the future including new product lines and the expansion of the current offering.”
- “The Ukraine and Russian war continues to have an impact on the timber trade with uncertain energy and fuel costs remaining. This market turbulence has had an impact on profits. However, during 2024 the company has had no problem in maintaining stock levels.”
- “The company is aware of its environmental responsibility and continues to make significant investments to improve efficiencies in re-cycling and waste management whilst maintaining its ISO14001 accredited system. All managers and Directors have taken ownership to help with the aim of reducing the overall carbon footprint wherever possible.”
- “The Directors plan to retain the current portfolio of seven depots in the immediate future, although the they will keep a watching eye on the market for strategically attractive acquisitions. The priority for 2025 however, is stability, to improve profitability and remain a strong player in the business sector.”

Each % is (latest − prior) ÷ |prior| for the line item as filed. Periods don't have to be exactly 12 months apart — a long or short period (typical around incorporation or year-end changes) will distort the comparison. Lines a company doesn't report are omitted. About these numbers
