Significant events

• “In August 2024, concerns were raised regarding the hospice having sufficient senior level medical staffing cover for a specific period of time. Following a visit from the CQC, a condition was imposed under Section 31 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008. Due to these issues around senior medical staffing we took the decision to temporarily reduce our bed capacity from 10 beds to 5 to ensure continued patient care and safety. These conditions and the Section 31 were subsequently lifted following evidence of a sustainable contingency plan to ensure the hospice had the senior medical cover needed.”
