“After accounting for the insured losses and recovery against third party insurers, Lundy is reporting a trading loss of £76,537 for the year ending 31st December 2024 (2023: 64,540) and has marginally lower reserves of £1.17 million (2023: £1.24 million). The directors consider these reserves sufficient to cover the principal risk to Lundy's financial performance; volatility in weather resulting in loss revenue, and travel disruptions to the island. At the time of writing the Oldenburg is fully operational and a long term maintenance plan with The National Trust is in place. In additional Lundy's buildings are insured and have shown to be able to withstand adverse weather events. Therefore the directors have not identified any material uncertainty arising to affect going concern.”
Significant events
- “The M.S. Oldenburg suffered a short two week delay to the start of the sailing season, followed by unprecedented levels of cancelled sailings arising from poor weather, impacting both day trip passenger numbers and stayers on the island.”
- “In late 2022 the MS Oldenburg suffered a flooding incident whilst in dry dock, and as a consequence, Lundy suffered loss of income and additional running costs. Lundy is currently seeking recovery against third party insurance. A minimum of £388,622 insurance recovery has been agreed. The insurers have paid £250,000 and advised that a further agreed amount of £138,622 is due.”

Each % is (latest − prior) ÷ |prior| for the line item as filed. Periods don't have to be exactly 12 months apart — a long or short period (typical around incorporation or year-end changes) will distort the comparison. Lines a company doesn't report are omitted. About these numbers
